Eventually, as your puppy grows older, he will have to transition from eating canned food to kibbles. To help your puppy adjust to the new diet, here are some tips you can follow:
● Introduce new food gradually. Let your puppy get used to the new diet. Start by combining 25% of the new food with 75% old food. After 3-5 days, you can add the amount of new food, while reducing the amount of old food. Keep on mixing the proportion of the pet food until your puppy gets used to the taste of the new one. However, some dogs will still prefer the taste of the old one. They might refuse to eat their meal if it is mixed with new dog food.
● Give smaller servings and remove whatever that’s left after 30 minutes. Give another batch of fresh food after every 4-5 hours. In between meals, do not give any other food. This is to ensure that your dog will eat his meal properly.
● You mustn't give any food outside his meal schedule. Otherwise, he will continue to refuse to eat his new food.
