Flat-Coated Retriever

The Flat-Coat's temperament is affected by training, socialization, and heredity. Nice-tempered pups are generally playful, curious, and can willingly interact with other people. So if you want to have a Flat-Coat, it's best to choose pups whose temperament lies in the middle of the spectrum so that you won't end up with an aggressive or timid dog. It will also help if you meet the pup's parents, siblings, and other relatives to have a better understanding of your puppy's temperament and personality.

Flat-Coats do well in the country and suburban areas. Their energy is moderately high, and they'll do best in homes where running and swimming are possible. Flat-Coated Retrievers need daily exercise for around 90 minutes. Alternatively, you can let them walk, run, or do other vigorous exercises (e.g., agility training, flyball, and game of fetch) for 45 minutes.

If you have concerns about your pet’s health and/or behavior, make an appointment with your vet Chesapeake, VA.
