The Best Way To Store Glasses

Just placing your eyeglasses inside your traveling bag or just on top of your nightstand unprotected can lead to your lenses getting smudges and scratches. Safe storage of your glasses is as essential as properly cleaning them if you are to get them to last long.

When on the move, store your glasses inside a hardshell case with a hinge. Eyeglass cases like these are available in most pharmacies and optical retailers, like the one where you purchased your glasses.

If hardshell cases are not available, then opt for a soft-style pocket case which you can use so long as your glasses are also secured in a zippered pocket inside your handbag, suitcase, or briefcase.

In the evening, you will want to store your glasses inside a case.

If that is not possible, place your eyeglasses on a stable and clean furniture surface or countertop. Make sure that the lenses are facing up. You can open both earpieces or “temples” of the glasses and put them in an upside-down position. This is the correct overnight storage if you do not have a case.
