Clumbers are more reserved with unfamiliar children and won't appreciate being charged by anyone. With this, be sure to keep your dog protected against assaults and let kids know the proper way of interacting with your dog. Supervise every interaction between kids and dogs to keep them from biting or offending each other. In addition, tell kids to avoid messing up with a dog's food. Remember to never trust a dog alone with a youngster.
Regarding other animals, Clumber Spaniels can be friendly, especially to those they grew up with. However, these dogs are fond of bird hunting, so extra caution is advised for pet birds unless you're very sure that your dog knows his limits. Although early training can help Clumbers learn it, it's still not an assurance for all Clumbers. Separation is still the best protection if you're unsure that your dog and bird won't hurt each other.
