Why Is My Cat Sneezing ?

Recall that in the previous sections there was talk about cats getting eye infections. Sneezing is the usual sign that the cat has a respiratory infection that is viral in nature. These are likely caused by perhaps the calicivirus or the feline herpes virus. These two are the most likely ones that are pervasive in cat shelters that are overcrowded.

Generally, as a cat is taken away from the overcrowding conditions, the animal’s immunity systems will defeat the viruses, but there are times when a cat will require supportive care to aid her recovery and make her feel better. Keep your pet’s nose clear from any debris and provide an environment that is humidified, as these will help in their comfort. Try offering a diet that has a stronger smell, like canned pet food warmed slightly to improve the aroma, encouraging your pet to eat better, even if she cannot smell her food all that well.

If you have concerns about your pet’s health, make an appointment with your professional animal hospital New Orleans LA.
