Why Does My Cat Vomit ?


When your cat vomits, it is actually a symptom of another health issue. Vomiting is not exactly a disease. It could be the cat's way of eliminating hairballs in the stomach. The presence of a foreign body or an irritant in the digestive tract is sure to cause the vomit reflex of cats.


According to veterinarians, vomiting in cats is classified into two categories. The first one is acute vomiting, which entails vomiting for less than a week. The cat will also look sick. Causes of acute vomiting could be poison ingestion, infection, and problems in the kidney, liver, and pancreas.


Chronic vomiting has similar causes. Besides, vomiting can also be due to hyperthyroidism, allergies in food, cancerous cells, and having inflammatory bowel disease.
