Watch out For Gingivitis in Cats

Gingivitis is a type of gum disease that can cause inflammation and irritation to the gums of cats no matter their age, sex, or breeding. One of the first and most common signs of gingivitis is extremely bad breath that doesn’t go away. This is referred to as Halitosis. Bad breath does not always mean dental trouble, but it’s a good idea to have your vet check it out. Some studies reveal that more than 80 percent of pets (including cats) three years and older develop some form of gingivitis. Common signs of gingivitis may include red or swollen gums. The inflammation is especially present on the side of the gums facing the inner cheeks. Tartar, plaque and even calculus buildup has been known to cause gingivitis. Brushing your cat’s teeth routinely can help prevent this. Consult with your veterinarian New Orleans, LA for more information. Or click this link: https://www.metairievets.com/
