Trimming Your Cat’s Claws

In most cases, cats require nail trimming about every 2-3 weeks. Though it can be worrisome to trim your cat's nails as they might claw you during the process, it is important to trim their nails once in a while as severely overgrown nails might cause footpad that leads to pain and mobility issues.

To do so, make sure that your cat is in a relaxed secure position, and then take a paw and use your pointer finger to press down on the top and bottom of her paw to make the claw extend, this makes the tip visible. Once you can see the sharp tip, you may now quickly snip the tip.

Make sure never to trim the pink part of the nail which is called "the quick" as it is very sensitive and cutting into this area will likely cause bleeding and pain.
