Signs Of Sickness In Cats

Cats are quite perplexing little pets. These charming balls of fur have some habits and quirks that are all their own, and are a bit mysterious and secretive. This is usually cute, but there are circumstances when it can backfire. One of these is when your furry pal is sick.

Kitties naturally try and hide signs of illness. This is because they learned long ago that predators single out animals that appear weak or sick. The danger to pets is that you may not notice anything wrong until your kitty is quite ill.

Some things to look for would be reduced appetite, poor fur condition, breathing trouble, lack of appetite, and discharge from the eyes, ears, nose, or mouth. Your pet may limp or seem stiff or lethargic, and she may withdraw to a quiet spot to be by herself. Other red flags include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, litterbox issues, and changes in vocalization or behavior.

If you notice any of these symptoms in your feline pal, contact your vet clinic Champaign, IL right away.
