Should Cats Wear Blankets Outdoors?

If you have your cat wear a blanket or coat then you should probably do so just indoors so you can keep an eye on him. Your cat may do just fine with the blanket, but if it doesn’t fit right he could get tangled it or he could chew on it. For outside, cats do not need blankets or coats. If you think it’s too cold for your cat to be outdoors without a blanket then it’s probably too cold for him to be outside at all. If you want to take him for a walk on leash then a blanket would be fine since you will be able to supervise him and it’s not longterm. Remember, blankets and coats for cats are not made to keep your cat warm. They are temporary solutions for supervision situations (i.e. an older cat with less fur wearing a blanket indoors). Talk to your veterinarians Covington, GA to learn more.
