Proper Handling Of Corn Snakes

For those who want to care for a pet snake, the corn snake variety is a good choice, the corn snake is tame, easy to handle, and relatively harmless.

You need to use your two hands when you handle a corn snake. Doing so will allow the snake to slide away from your grip. Remember not to squeeze, grab, or restrict the corn snake.

The corn snake regularly sheds all of its skin. Its eyes become cloudy while doing so. The scales also appear dull. If the temperature is not humid enough, the snake will not complete its shedding. Thus, the owner should provide the optimum temperature that the snake needs to shed completely.

The enclosure should also be moist while the corn snake is shedding. You can do this by putting a basin filled with warm water.

Take note that corn snakes are prone to developing various infections. When the corn snake has any of these infections, it may experience incomplete shedding.
