Nose Bleeds in Dogs

vets Virginia Beach, VA

Did you know that nosebleeds in dogs are common? They can happen for a number of reasons. Some dogs may get a nose bleed if they are running and playing and accidentally run into something. They may also get a nose bleed if they come across a predator outside (i.e. ants, snakes, etc.) and receive a bite on their nose. If this happens, call your vet and take your dog in for an exam. This is to ensure that he bite is not infected and to make sure the nose, etc. isn’t broken. If your dog suddenly develops nose bleeds that happen routinely then you should notify your vet as this could be a symptom of an underlying disease like cancer, leukemia or other diseases. Not all nose bleeds indicate the presence of a serious disease. However, it’s best to have your vets Virginia Beach, VA examine your dog and run tests just to be sure.
