Looking sophisticated with their lengthy and silky coats, the Maine Coons are easy to look after. Their fur coats do not easily mat when you find time to groom them. But, how often should you groom them? Brushing these cats’ coats twice a week is good to remove their loose or dead hair and to distribute the oil throughout the skin.
In employing the brushing regimen, be sure to use the appropriate tools, such as a stainless steel comb called the “grooming rake.” This tool can help remove tangles easily and even dead undercoats. When unremoved, this dead undercoat is the one causing tangles.
The Maine Coon cats are generally patient and calm. But, they may not the part of their hair being pulled or removed. So be gentle with them. A bath may be necessary when their coat looks and feels greasy and stringy. You may ask your local vets Virginia Beach VA to know more.
