Is Your Dog Food Intolerant?

Pet food can be full of unnatural ingredients that can be harmful to animals. Preservatives like the sugar-rich ingredient namely glucose, cane molasses, fructose, and corn syrup, are a good example of this. They are not usually a part of a pet regular diet especially dogs. When added in their food, it can cause allergies. It is therefore advisable to practice checking dog food for any allergens added such as artificial colors and flavors. These are common ingredients in dog food which makes it attractive and irresistible. Overdose in coloring and flavoring should be avoided. Study shows that the presence of an increased amount of glucosamine, probiotics, yucca, or common preservatives in pet food is not good for the dog’s health. Once you find generic names such as fat or meat in dog food ingredients, it only shows that it is of low quality. It is better if the origin of such ingredients is known or their specific names are disclosed like beef, lamb, chicken, soybean oil, etc.

Sudden changes in your pet’s appetite or eating habits should make an appointment with your vet hospital Portland, OR.
