During summertime or whenever the sun gets too hot, most if not all dogs would love to take a swim at a pool (no matter the pool size!). Taking a swim or taking a quick bath helps them regulate their temperature during the sweltering heat, and it's also a good form of exercise for them. But don't forget that most pools are filled with chlorine. Are chlorinated pools safe for pet dogs to swim in?
Generally speaking, chlorinated pools are safe for all dogs, but that is assuming that the pool's chlorine level is just right and monitored closely. It's a different matter if the chlorine level of the pool is too high: it's risky for dogs and humans, too.
The important thing to remember is what you do after your dog has taken a swim--- you need to rinse your dog thoroughly and prevent your dog from ingesting the chlorinated water. Give him fresh drinking water throughout the activity.
