Are you planning to add another dog to your family? Our canine friends often love having a buddy to run and play with. After all, dogs are pack animals by nature. That said, they don't always get along with each other, any more than people do. Problems often occur between pups that both have 'alpha' personalities, or those with specific fears, poor socialization, and/or aggressive tendencies.
It's best to introduce your canine pals before finalizing the adoption. Ideally, this should happen on neutral ground, such as a park. Keep an eye on both pooches' body language. Wagging tails, play snorts, and frisky play-bows are all good signs.
Even if all seems well, you want to be cautious as your dogs get used to each other. Supervise all interactions, and don't leave your pets alone together unattended.
If you see signs of aggression, such as growling or fighting, consult your veterinarian Fredericksburg, TX before proceeding.
