Injury And Illness May Cause Leopard Geckos To Lose Their Appetite

Should your pet leopard gecko lately experience a temperature drop in their environment because of perhaps a draft, this may leave your pet with an infection to the animal’s respiratory system, causing it to cease eating. A respiratory infection is a very common medical issue that may cause a reptile to lose its appetite. Should your pet leopard gecko be ill in another manner, then there could be another reason for its lack of appetite. A veterinarian specializing in exotic pets can examine growths blocking or affecting the gastrointestinal system, ulcerations to the mouth, and other problems. Should you think that your pet is ill and is the cause for it to not eat, then visit your veterinarian for assistance.

Should you find that your pet gecko seems to be in pain due to an injury or a wound, it may also stop eating. Eye injuries, abscesses, toe and tail issues could all be discomforting and stop your pet gecko from eating. If you see that your pet gecko does appear to be injured, be ready because it may not regain its appetite until it feels better and the pain is more manageable.

A sudden change in your pet's diet and/or eating habits should prompt a visit to your vet clinic Bucks County PA.
