How to Tell if Your Pet Dog is Feeling Fearful

It might take some trial and error before you can become in tune with your pet’s emotions. Pretty soon, you’ll be able to tell if your pet is fearful of something. To help you identify, these are some manifestations:

  • They tuck their tails between the legs and lower their head and body

  • The hair on their back (or hackles) are raised and directed backward

  • The eyes are wide and dilated

  • Unable to control bowel movement and urine, in some instances

If you can identify the factors that cause these fears, you can successfully train your dog to steer clear of such situations. On the other hand, it might be difficult to help your dog overcome their fears if there is a combination of factors that cause it.

A sudden change in your pet’s health and/or behavior should warrant a visit to your vet clinic Virginia Beach, VA. More information here: https://www.barkeranimalhospital.com/
