How To Address A Cat’s Bad Behavior

When your cat is misbehaving, perhaps your first reaction would be to punish your pet. Unfortunately, this way of thinking will be counterproductive. But you can think of ways to discipline your cat even if you are not around.

Look at the cat's surroundings because these will affect the cat's behavior. Through baby steps, you can alter the environment and improve the cat’s actions even if you are not around.

You can set up booby traps if you do not want your cat to go to some rooms or places around the house. It is easy and cheap to install booby traps around the house. Since you are not present when the cat encounters the booby trap, your pet will not suspect that you were the one who did it.

You can also set up simple deterrents for the cat. For instance, you can use citrus scents and eucalyptus oil in places that you want off-limits. Or you can utilize double-sided tapes and aluminum foil.

If you have any questions or concerns about your pet’s behavior, don’t hesitate to contact your veterinarian Washington DC.
