How Long Does A Dog Grooming Appointment Usually Take?

Waiting until your dog is done with his grooming session can be boring sometimes. Your dog's grooming needs will determine how long his appointment will be. Additionally, it depends on his breed, coat, and hair length.

An average Labrador Retriever wash and blow-dry takes one to two hours. This process would be shorter for a dog with one layer coat, like a Boston Terrier. Given that they have a dense coat, Corgis may require the same amount of time as Labradors. A bath and blow-dry for a breed with a thick coat, like a Newfoundland, may take three hours. This will allow adequate time to dry and brush his coat correctly.

If you plan to cut your dog's hair, it might last about 1.5 to 4 hours. The length and condition of his hair will determine how long this process will take. If his hair is silky smooth, it would be last shorter. If your dog is already old and suffers from mobility problems, it might last longer. The groomer will be careful not to hurt your dog while doing his job.

Any skin and/or hair coat issue exhibited by your pet should warrant an appointment with your veterinary clinic Washington DC.
