Are you familiar with geckos? In some cities or countries, these tiny creatures are not that domesticated or common. But, geckos have started to gain attention in some places because of their unique traits and characteristics.
Geckos are reptiles that come in bright colors, such as yellow and green. These animals can live for as long as 20 to 25 years, and they can grow to around 8 inches long.
Here are some important things to remember when housing pet geckos:
Do not place two male geckos in one enclosure because it will cause chaos. How can you tell the sex of a gecko? Check the underbellies of the animals when they reach three months old. If you see big pre-anal pores shaped in “V,” then the geckos are male. In addition, males have bigger heads and more stout.
For one gecko, you need a 10-gallon aquarium or a reptile cage. But, if you plan to house three geckos, you need at least 20 gallons.
Place a few clean rocks and wood inside for their climbing needs.
You may use old papers, sand, or newspapers for the lining of the cage.
Allow your geckos to play and hide inside the cage by putting boxes.
