German Wirehairs have a double coat that protects them from all types of conditions— from the cold weather to the rough underbrush. The coarse and wiry coats grow from 1 to 2 inches long, lying flat and straight.
During the winter season, their undercoat becomes dense to insulate their bodies against the extremely cold weather, and then it becomes barely visible when the summer comes. On the other hand, their bushy eyebrows and beards protect their eyes and face from lacerations/scratches. Their coats can be:
●Spotted liver roan (white and reddish-brown hairs)
●Roan, spotted and ticked (white background with small black areas)
●Solid liver (reddish-brown)
They have liver-colored ears and heads and, sometimes, a blaze of white on the head. The nose and lips are liver-colored, and the mouth is spotted. Liver-colored dogs can't have black spots, and brown noses are impossible for black dogs. Therefore, black-colored or black-pigmented German Wirehairs aren't something to buy.
A sudden change in your pet’s behavior should warrant a call to your animal clinic Frisco, TX.
