Dogue de Bordeaux is a loyal, territorial, and self-assured dog who needs so much training and socialization. These dogs are famously represented by a character in a 1989 film called Turner and Hooch, starring Tom Hanks. DDB are easily distinguished by their large heads, and more often than not, they walk around with slobber on their mouth.
Initially, you may get intimidated when you see a DDB eye to eye. And although they are known to defend their families/homes when the need arises, these dogs are generally docile and affectionate. Still, don't get fooled by their sweet disposition, as their stubbornness takes an experienced dog enthusiast to train them. With consistent training, these dogs grow up to be loving and faithful.
Covering the DDB's thick and loose skin is a soft, fine, and short coat, with colors ranging from dark red to light fawn. For additional information regarding your dog care, contact vet Louisville KY.
