Dog Chewing Prevention: Don’ts

Does your dog chew a lot? It is probably time for you to start training your dog not to chew things he should not.

Whether your dog is still a puppy or is already an adult, you must understand the proper techniques on how you must train him. To help you do this the right way, learn the things that you must avoid or not do. So, remember NOT TO…

  • Leave your dog unattended for long hours. This happening is cruel to your dog and is unfair to him. Your pup deserves social interaction or potty breaks.

  • Punish your dog using a crate. When you see your pup chew on your items, do not punish him using a crate or kennel.

  • Doing this will incur a long-term negative impact on crates.

  • Give your pup bones or toys that are dangerous. You would not want your dog to get in an accident because of chewing unsafe toys, right? Always find time to monitor your dog.

  • Shout at your dog or scold him. This undertaking may negatively affect your dog emotionally.

  • Leave out stimulation or exercise activities. It is best to keep your pup preoccupied with healthy and fun activities.
