Does Your Cat Love To Stay In Elevated Places?

Cats have fussy temperaments that typically also encompass their sleeping behaviors. Most cat owners have spent significant portions of their budget to give their pet cats these big luxurious cat beds, only to discover that their pet just ignores it. But could it be possible that your cat is just displaying her fussiness, or could there be another reason for such behavior?

Experts on animal behavior say that most cats like hanging out and sleeping in areas that have great vantage points. This choice is instinctive since elevated spots offer protection and give the cat the benefit of high ground as she is able to see possible dangers in her surroundings. This instinctive behavior stems from their ancestors who were hunters living in the outdoors. Their ability to climb means that they can get away from large predators and also gives them the ability to attack small prey when they are up on high branches. And so, climbing up elevated spots became natural to them, eventually getting bestowed on their descendants, the modern-day domestic cat.

A sudden change in your pet’s health and/or behavior should warrant a call to your animal clinic Raleigh, NC. Read more here.
