Does Your Cat have a Problem with your Litter Box?

Cats can be very nit-picky about where they do their business. Even though they have been regularly using the litter box, they may suddenly have certain issues and choose to do their business somewhere else. Here are some possible reasons for your cat’s behavior.

  • Urine marking is common among intact male felines when they’re 7-8 months old – around puberty. A simple way to stop this habit is by neutering them.

  • Cats will get sensitive about their litterboxes in every known way – from their designs, dimensions, and spots where we place them, to the type of litter used.

  • Consider the size of the litterbox. As your pet cats will like to move around before they do their business, make sure there’s enough elbow room for her to do just that.

  • Make sure litter boxes are situated in parts of the house that have maximum privacy for your cat. Any disturbance will discourage them from visiting their litter boxes.

  • Oftentimes your cat’s unwillingness to go to their litter box is caused by some health problem, consulting with your local vet Portland, OR will help.
