Common Mistakes That People Make When Cleaning Their Eyeglasses

dvmelite1

Don't ever use your shirt, toilet paper, or towels when cleaning your eyeglasses. We know they're the easiest to reach because we have them in abundance. But the fact that they're everywhere in the house doesn't make them the right tool.

Toilet paper can leave debris on your glasses. Towels and your shirt are simply too rough and will likely scratch the lenses. Always go for soft cloth like the ones included in your glasses' box. If you can buy a few microfiber cloths, the better.

Acetone and any alcohol-based chemical are to be avoided. These substances can destroy lenses if you don't remove them thoroughly. Your saliva isn't something you can use, either. First of all, it contains food particles all over.

Your saliva also contains acids that the frames could do without if they're metal-based. Plus, the purpose of saliva is not for cleaning external objects. If anything, you'll just make your glasses harder to use.

Any issue or concern you may have with your eyes or eyesight should be brought to the attention of your local eye doctor Hackensack, NJ.
