Can Cats Live Outdoors in the Rain?

Your cat should not have to live outside in the rain especially if he is younger or older. Cats that are outside during a sudden downpour should have shelter to run into until the storm passes. A doggy door back into the house is great. A porch or garage would also serve as shelter. If possible, do not let your cat out on the days that you know it’s going to rain. Keeping a weather app on your phone could be very helpful. You can check to see what the weather will be like and decide if your cat should be out or not. If all else fails, leave your cat indoors then you won’t have to worry. If you know you’ll be around the house all day then let her out and just watch for her to come back to the door when the weather changes. For more suggestions, give your vet Parkland, FL a call.
