Can Cats Have Nose Bleeds ?

Nosebleeds in cats most often occur due to trauma or an upper respiratory tract infection. In addition, sudden changes in temperature have been known to trigger nosebleeds in cats. Because nosebleeds aren’t an ever day occurrence for cats, please contact your vet if your cat has a nosebleed. It’s best for your vet to examine your cat and determine the cause and provide treatment if needed. Please do not administer any medication to your cat without consulting your vet first. Your vet will most likely instruct you on how to stop the bleeding. If approved by the vet, place an ice pack on the bridge of your cat’s nose to help slow the bleeding. Tests may be needed to rule out more serious medical issues like a tumor, cancer, or an inability for blood to clot properly. Talk with your animal hospital Anderson, IN to know more, visit their website for additional information.
