Can Cats Eat Shrimp ?

You can offer your cat shrimps that have been prepared in different methods like broiled, boiled, grilled, baked, steamed, or even just plain. Cats will like the scent, flavor, and texture of shrimps. Also, you can offer shrimps to be your cat’s healthy treats. Shrimp is rich in iodine, selenium, copper, phosphorus, vitamin B12, and protein. But there are some precautionary measures to remember when offering your pet cat any shrimp:

●Cats not adjusted to eating shrimp might get an upset digestive system or perhaps even pancreatitis. This is possible if butter and seasonings have been added to the shrimp while cooking.

●Shrimp tail shells might get stuck in your cat’s throat and possibly choke her.

●Constipation and gastrointestinal upsets could happen if a cat ingests shrimp tails in an unusually large quantity.

●Be sure to fully cook the shrimp before offering them to your cat. Raw shrimp might have bacteria like Salmonella, Listeria, or E. coli that can cause illness in cats.

●And like humans, there are cats that might have shrimp allergies.
