Chocolate is known to be poisonous to most pets, but could it be safe for cats in ice cream?
Your cat may be more interested in an ice cream treat than any chocolate snack because it’s milk. If she gets a small taste of chocolate-flavored ice cream, there shouldn’t be many terrible consequences. But the amount she intakes could change that, and you should keep an eye on it.
Though the chocolate and its harmful ingredients would be somehow diluted in an ice cream mixture, having too much of that flavor of ice cream would still make them sick. Even if the chocolate used is a less sweet variation of chocolate, your cat shouldn’t have more than two tablespoons of the ice cream to prevent any unwanted reaction.
Also, consider your cat’s sensitivity to dairy and other milk products. Since many cats are lactose intolerant, even with the lack of chocolate in the ice cream, your cat could feel unwell.
