One of the harmful substances that are dangerous to your cats is essential oils. It can be organic but some compounds are not safe for your beloved cat. As a pet owner, you must ensure that you are extra careful when using some of these oils so they won't be ingested by your cat.
Poison reaction and liver problems are only some examples of what could happen to your cat if ingested. Essential oils can also lead to vomiting, nausea, seizures, and death. So an extra precaution is necessary.
But that doesn't mean that you are not allowed to use essential oils and diffusers. You just have to secure them in a place that your cat can't reach.
