A Cat’s Mood Can Be Revealed in the Ears

Did you know that cat’s mood or temperament can be revealed just by studying the ears? The ears of a cat can say a lot about a cat. Cats communicate and express their moods via their ears. How? A cat’s ears can move 180 degrees in order to pick up sound. The ears can pick up sounds in the range of 65kHz while a human can only pick up a range of 20kHz. Perfect hearing. But that’s not it. The ears positioning can reveal the cat’s mood. For instance, a cat that is resting or relaxed may have ears that are at a slight angle and pointing forward. Cats that are curiously listening to sounds may have ears standing straight up at the top of the head. A cat that is nervous or anxious may actually have shaking or twitching hears.
